"Snake Pit"

Scott Jacobs recently completed a major painting for the Viper Club of America which includes as its subjects all four generations of Vipers.  The title, Snake Pit, really describes this incredibly detailed and photo-realistic masterpiece featuring the four cars posed to show off their individual merits.  The process from concept to completion was extremely complicated and had to be handled with the utmost precision.  First, the specific cars had to be found and then gathered in one specific location (Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Detroit), for the purposes of the photo-shoot.  An entire day was spent arranging the Vipers and photographing them from various viewpoints until one particular shot caught everyone's eye.  Once that was accomplished, the real work would begin for Scott.

With the photo as a reference, Scott's free-hand drawing directly on the canvas was followed by the difficult process of applying his brush (smaller than a blade of grass) until the painting was finished.  Given that he had never painted a Viper before, Scott was challenged by this work 
knowing that it would be viewed by some pretty discerning eyes.
  Everyone was extremely pleased with the results!
